Some new pictures...

Since "a picture is worth a thousand words," and I've been having a hard time coming up with anywhere near to a thousand words of late, here are some pictures that I took along the James River and in Richmond on the 28th of June.

The James is currently at flood-stage due to the recent heavy rains and the muddy water provided an interesting contrast to the summer foliage along the river's edge.
This is looking across the James towards the South Side from Brown's Island.
Some local trees on Brown's Island that looked particularly photogenic with the sunbeams doing their thing--needless to say, I couldn't resist.
Two of the several skyscapers that dot the Richmond Skyline. These two in particular look rather dignified with their somewhat more refined lines and rose-tinted windows. One of them does have a balcony, but is not available for public observation.
This angle just caught me as a great potential shot with the flag in the foreground fitting nicely in the corner of the Suntrust building...needed better wind though.
I tried out the "Foliage" setting on my camera for this shot of the sun in the leaves over my head. I think it came out rather well, if lacking in variety.
